Some Congress leaders and workers along with Rahul Gandhi left for Udaipur on a train on the 20th of June 2022.

- Mass Scale Protest in Jammu & Kashmir After the Killing of a Kashmiri Pandit-
- Massive protests spread across several parts of Jammu & Kashmir after a 36-year-old Kashmiri Pandit was killed last night, i.e., on the night of 19th June 2022.
- Rahul Bhat, the victim, was shot by terrorists in what appears to be a targeted attack when the terrorists barged into the Tehsildar’s office in Chadoora village of Budgam village.
- The members of the Kashmiri Pandit community left their transit camps, took to the roads after the incident, and stood against the central government, saying that it failed them.
- Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education, launches Polyversity-
- The Bharat Blockchain Network (BBN), an Academic Blockchain Consortium, and Polyversity, an Educational Metaverse, have been unveiled by the Michigan IT Services and IT Consulting company Information Data Systems (IDS).
- Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Ministry of Education, Government of India, launched the initiatives in the presence of officials from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) at an event held at the AICTE auditorium in New Delhi.
- IN-SPACe is inaugurated by PM Modi in Ahmedabad-
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Indian Center for Space Promotion and Authorization (IN-SPACe) in Ahmedabad.
- Union Home Minister Amit Shah was also present at the ceremony.
- The headquarters of IN-SPACe was also reviewed by the PM after its inauguration.
Important Highlights of 21st June 2022
1)The Election Commission has sent six key proposals to the Law Ministry.
- Linking of Aadhaar with voter IDs
- Allowing four qualifying dates for eligible people to register as voters
- Ban on exit polls and opinion polls and said there should be some restriction on conducting and disseminating the results of opinion polls right from the day of the first notification of an election till the completion of the election in all its phases
- Also recommended limiting the seats from which a candidate can contest to just one
- The EC has also sought powers to deregister political parties
- EC has sought the modification of Form 24A to mandate the disclosure of all donations above Rs 2,000 instead of Rs 20,000.
2)The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) released the State Food Safety Index (SFSI) 2021-22.
- In the category of the 20 large states, Tamil Nadu with an overall score of 82 out of 100 has performed the best and been ranked 1st on SFSI 2021-22, while Andhra Pradesh with an overall score of 26 has been ranked at the bottom —17th place
- Following Tamil Nadu in the rankings of the larger states are Gujarat (rank 2nd with a score of 77.5), Maharashtra (3rd with 70), Hand Himachal Pradesh (4th with 65.5), and West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh (sharing 5th with a score of 58.5).
3)The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was first tested from a land-based launcher in Chandipur on 14th June 2001. Let us know about the Brahmos missile as it is important from an exam point of view.
- BrahMos is a joint venture between India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya.
- The missile derives its name from the Brahmaputra and Moskva rivers.

- It is now capable of being launched from land, sea, sub-sea, and air against the surface and sea-based targets and has constantly been improved and upgraded.
4)Kerala CM inaugurates cancer research center in Kochi
- Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan has inaugurated a cancer diagnostics and research center here, which is slated to be the country’s first oncology laboratory for comprehensive cancer diagnostic services.
- Karkinos Healthcare’s advanced center for cancer diagnostics and research will serve as a central lab for analyzing specimens at molecular and genomic levels.

1)Union Health Minister launches Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight – 2022 aimed at zero child deaths due to childhood diarrhea.
- According to the Sample Registration System(SRS) 2019 report, the Child Mortality Rate in the country has come down considerably since 2014.
- This rate has come down from 45 per 1,000 live births in 2014 to 35 per 1,000 live births in 2019.
- But even today, diseases related to diarrhea continue to be a major cause of death in children under the age of five.
2)Karnataka government launched ‘FRUITS’ software for farmer schemes.
- The Karnataka government has launched ‘The Farmer Registration & Unified Beneficiary Information System’ or FRUITS software for Aadhar-based, single-window registration for the schemes.
- FRUITS software will facilitate single registration using an Aadhar card and Karnataka’s Bhoomi digitized land record system for authenticating ownership.
3)38th India-Indonesia Coordinated Patrol Conducted in the Andaman Sea.
- The 38th India-Indonesia Coordinated Patrol (IND-INDO CORPAT) between the Indian Navy Units of Andaman & Nicobar Command (ANC) and the Indonesian Navy is being conducted from June 23 to 24 2022 in the Andaman Sea and Straits of Malacca.
- The 38th CORPAT is the first post-pandemic Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) between the two countries. It includes a visit by the Indonesian Navy units to ANC at Port Blair from June 23 to 25, 2022 followed by a Sea Phase in the Andaman Sea and a visit by IN Units to Sabang (Indonesia) from June 23 to 24, 2022.
4)SRS Data: India’s life expectancy rose to 69.7
- According to data from the sample registration system (SRS), India’s life expectancy at birth has reached 69.7 since 2019. Data was released by the demographic survey.

Top Highlights of 23rd June 2022
1)Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) for 2020-21 was released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
- The unemployment rate saw a decrease of 0.6% and fell to 4.2% in 2020-21, compared with 4.8% in 2019-20
- Rural areas recorded an unemployment rate of 3% and urban areas recorded an unemployment rate of 6.7%.
- The National Statistical Office (NSO) uses a “rotational panel sampling design” in urban areas to assess the Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR), Worker Population Ratio (WPR), and the unemployment rate, and visits to selected households in urban areas four times.
- The LFPR, the percentage of persons in the labor force (that is, working or seeking work or available for work) in the population was 6% during 2020-21. It was 40.1% in the previous year.
2)The ‘Bharat Gaurav’ train service from Coimbatore to Shirdi, a first of its kind in the country, was inaugurated at the Coimbatore North Railway Station.
- To promote and attract tourism business, the Indian Railways launched Bharat Gaurav trains that will be operated by private players and run on theme-based circuits.
- Through this policy, which offers operators the “Right of Use” of its rakes and infrastructure, the Railways has liberalized and simplified a part of operations that was otherwise carried out mostly by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
- While any entity can run these trains, including state governments, it is implied that the policy is targeted at tour operators.
3)The government unveiled its new Agnipath scheme for recruiting soldiers across the three services.
- Under the new scheme, around 45,000 to 50,000 soldiers (will be called ‘Agniveers’) will be recruited annually (for a short period, and most will leave the service in just four years.
- Of the total annual recruits, only 25 percent will be allowed to continue for another 15 years under permanent commission.
4)PM Modi inaugurates Jagatguru Sreesanth Tukaram Maharaj Shila Mandir in Pune.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated Jagatguru Sreesanth Tukaram Maharaj Shila Mandir at Dehu Village near Pune, dedicated to the 17th-century seer.
- Sant Tukaram was a Warkari saint and poet, famously known for Abhyanga devotional poetry and community-oriented worship through spiritual songs known as Kirtans. He lived in Dehu.

1)Uttarakhand CM suspends RTO for not coming to office on time-
- Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, suspended a Regional Transport Officer on Wednesday for reaching the office late.
- Dinesh Chandra Pathoi, the RTO, was dealt with such a fate due to a surprise inspection of the Regional Transport Office at Rajpur Road.
- Along with Pathol, CM Dhami has taken strict action against others also who were absent from the office at 10:30 am.
- June 24th is appointed by the Government as the day to unite 3 Delhi Civic bodies-
- The Union Home Ministry issued a notification according to which the Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Act, 2022 will come into effect from June 24th.
- Three Municipal Corporations of Delhi will be formally merged on 24th June, the central government has announced on Wednesday.
- President Ram Nath Kovind had given his nod to the decision on April 18. The Legislation was approved by Lok Sabha on March 30 and by Rajya Sabha on April 5.
- India is now the top beneficiary from overseas remittances-
- India has surpassed Mexico as the top remittance-receiving country in 2021, pushing China to third place, according to the World Bank.
- India has received more than $89 billion in remittances in 2021, an increase of 8% above the $82.73 Billion received in 2020.
- India’s first 5G testbed, estimated to be worth Rs. 220 crore unveiled by PM Modi-
- To allow startups and industry players to test and certify their technologies domestically, PM Modi has unveiled India’s first 5G testbed.
- The testbed is valued at around Rs. 220 crore.
- PM Modi said that the testbed is a significant step towards self-reliance in the direction of critical and modern technologies in his speech at the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s silver jubilee celebration.

- Citing personal reasons as the cause, Delhi Lieutenant General Anil Baijlal submitted his resignation to President Ram Nath Kovind.

- Omar Abdullah, the former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, said on Thursday that the people of J&K are “fed up” with the current government administration and want early elections to form the government of their choice.
- The Election Commission of India (ECI) will decide on the polls said Abdullah after being asked whether the election will be held soon because the delimitation commission report has been submitted.
- Anurag Thakur offers a big boost in India for foreign film shoot: Cannes-
- Anurag Thakur, the Information and Broadcasting, and Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, has announced the initiatives that will help promote India as an International film shooting destination.
- The Minister when giving his speech at the inauguration of the star-studded Indian Pavilion at the Marche du Cannes on Wednesday in the French Riviera said that up to Rs. 50 Lakh will be granted to film units that employ 15% or more manpower from India.
- The Minister also unveiled an incentive scheme for the audio-visual co-production and shooting of foreign films in India with a cash incentive of up to 30% which is around $260,000.
