RRB NTPC  Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of RRB NTPC  should be understood by candidates so that they don’t miss any important information during their preparation. The exam pattern consists of two phases

  • Written test two

Phase two or Computer phase two Exam

This is the second phase of RRB (NTPC). The exam pattern of this stage is:-

  • The number of questions asked in phase two is 120
  • The time allotted is one hour 30 minutes and the time allotted to PwD is 2 hours 30 minutes.
  • The subjects asked in this exam are General Reasoning, General Awareness, and Quantitative Aptitude.

Negative Marking Scheme

The negative marking scheme of the RRB NTPC is as follows:-

  • One mark is allotted for each correct answer
  • 1/3rd marks are deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Nil or Zero marks are awarded unanswered Questions.

This is to be noted here that as there is negative marking in the exam the Candidates must answer all the questions wisely. Intellectual guessing can be made on certain questions but don’t take too much risk.

Eligibility Criteria-RRB NTPC

Nationality Criteria for RRB NTPC

The candidate who is applying must be either:

  • a citizen of India, or
  • a subject of Nepal, or
  • a subject of Bhutan, or
  • a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 to get permanently settled in the country or
  • a person from India who has migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, East African Countries of Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia and Vietnam, Zaire to get permanently settled in the country.

Age Criteria

The age Criteria or QQualificationsfor the RRB NTPC exam are as follows:-

Minimum age 18 years
Maximum age 33 years

 

  • As of July 1, 2021, the age limit for all the posts is the same.

Educational Qualifications

The educational qualification for the Candidates as specified by the RRB are:-

  • You must have Educational/ technical qualifications from a recognized board.
  • The final-year students are not eligible for this.
  • The Candidates who have done their Graduation through non-formal, a/distance mode must meet the following criteria for Application
    • Candidate must have completed 12 years of schooling through an Examination conducted by a Board / University
    •  Candidate must have passed an entrance test by the University to enroll in a 3-year degree program through distance/non-formal education
    • Candidates must not have been below 18 years of age as of 1st July of the year of admission to this course.
  • The engineering course/Graduation apprentice act will not be accepted by the RRB for the recruitment process.
