1)CBSE launches Pariksha Sangam portal to streamline board examination results

  • The CBSE Board has launched a portal called ‘Pariksha Sangam’ to streamline board examination results, sample papers, and other details in one single window.
  • According to cbsedigitaleducation.com, the newly launched Pariksha Sangam portal “will integrate various examination-related processes to be conducted by the school’s regional offices and the Headquarters of the CBSE Board”. 

2)PM Modi unveils 30-ft statue of freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a 30-feet bronze statue of Alluri Sitarama Raju at Bhimavaram in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district.
  • The 125th birth anniversary of Alluri Sitarama Raju, along with 100 years of ‘Rampa Kranti’ will be celebrated throughout the year marking 75 years of Independence.

3)Kerala CM inaugurates cancer research center in Kochi

  • Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan has inaugurated a cancer diagnostics and research center here, which is slated to be the country’s first oncology laboratory for comprehensive cancer diagnostic services.
  • Karkinos Healthcare’s advanced center for cancer diagnostics and research will serve as a central lab for analyzing specimens at molecular and genomic levels.

International Affairs

1)Accession protocols with NATO inked by Sweden and Finland

  • Sweden and Finland signed the accession protocols. Pekka Haavisto of Finland and Ann Linde of Sweden, both foreign ministers, were present for the signing.
  • Days have passed since the trilateral agreement between Sweden, Finland, and Turkey was signed. Turkey initially opposed the Nordic countries’ admission to the organization on the grounds that they were harboring Kurdish insurgents. At the last trilateral conference in Madrid, Turkey agreed to drop its objections under specific circumstances.

2)Ambassador Rabab Fatima was appointed UN Under-Secretary-General.

  • Ambassador Rabab Fatima, Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations has been appointed as Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations. 
  • Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has announced the appointment of Ambassador Fatima.

1)A new edition of Viswanathan Anand’s memoir ‘Mind Master’ released soon

  • Hachette India has announced the expanded paperback edition of five-time world chess champion Viswanathan Anand’s widely acclaimed memoir “Mind Master: Winning Lessons from a Champion’s Life”.
  • The book, featuring a bonus chapter on how to navigate uncertainty and rapidly changing realities in the wake of the pandemic, will hit the stands on July 15. It is written by Anand with author-journalist Susan Ninan.

1)RBI increased the individual housing loan limit for cooperative banks.

  • Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has decided to increase the existing limits on individual housing loans provided by cooperative banks, taking into account the rise in housing prices since the limits were last revised and considering customers’ needs for larger loans. 
  • RBI has also permitted the Rural Cooperative Banks (RCB) for financing residential real estate projects, in a bid to support affordable housing and inclusive growth.

2)India’s service sector activity grew at its fastest rate in 11 years

  • In June, the services industry in India had its highest level of activity in 11 years because of growing demand, capacity development, and favorable economic conditions.
  • The S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for services increased to 59.2 in June from 58.9 in May, which is the highest level since April 2011. The results demonstrate a solid rebound in the services sector.

1)DRDO conducted successfully tests out Autonomous Aircraft’s Maiden Take-Off

  • The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully carried out the Maiden flight of the Autonomous Flying Wing Technology Demonstrator from the Aeronautical Test Range in Karnataka.
  • The flight operated in a fully autonomous mode. The aircraft exhibited a perfect flight, including take-off, waypoint navigation, and a smooth touchdown.

1)Veteran Bengali filmmaker Tarun Majumdar passes away

  • Veteran Bengali film director, Tarun Majumdar passed away at the age of 92.
  • Tarun Majumdar was known for helming popular Bengali films such as Smriti Tuku Thak, Shriman Prithviraj, Kuheli, Balika Badhu, Dadar Kirti, and Chander Bari, among others in his lifetime. He created a significant impact in uplifting the Bengali film industry during the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

  • One of the most eminent personalities of the Indian Cricket Team -MS Dhoni sets to turn 41 on 07th July 2022.
  • Rising from zero to infinity, MS Dhoni has the captaincy behind the world cup, two Asia Cups, a champions trophy, and many more.
  • It must be noted here that Dhoni announced his retirement from the T20 world cup last year and when talked about the IPL, he transferred the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja this year.
