  • The 28th of June is recognised as Micro-Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day to honour these businesses’ potential and their contribution to boosting economies. The purpose of the day is to increase public awareness of MSMEs’ contributions to sustainable development and global economic prosperity.

  • Dr. V. Krishnamurthy, a former chairman of public sector organisations like Maruti Udyog (now Maruti Suzuki), Steel Authority of India (SAIL), and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), passed away.

2) The Kerala State Government will introduce the “MEDISEP” programme

  • The state government of Kerala has given directives for the implementation of the “MEDISEP” medical insurance programme which will help all the lower-income groups across the states.
  • The Kerala State Government has issued instructions pertaining to the implementation of the “MEDISEP” medical insurance programme for public employees and retirees as well as the deduction of premiums from June 2022 salaries and July 2022 pensions.

2) The National MSME Award 2022’s top prize goes to the Odisha government.

  • The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Department of Odisha won the top prize in the category “National MSME Award 2022 to States/UTs for extraordinary contribution to the promotion and development of MSME Sector” as a result of several initiatives made for the growth of MSMEs. Bihar and Haryana, in that order, finished second and third.

3)Iran and Argentina apply to join the BRICS club alongside China and Russia.

  • Argentina had also made a bid for membership. Argentina’s president, Alberto Fernandez, recently reaffirmed his nation’s intention to join the BRICS. Fernandez is currently travelling in Europe.

2) Bajaj Allianz launched the first “Global Health Care” programme in the industry.

  • The launch of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance’s distinctive Global Health Care health insurance programme was announced by one of the major private general insurers in India.
  • Global Health Care is a comprehensive health indemnity insurance product that provides policyholders with seamless coverage for both domestic and foreign (outside of India) medical providers for both planned and emergency care (within India).

1) Ferdinand Marcos Jr. takes the oath of office as Philippine p

  • President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was sworn in as the 17th President of the Philippines on May 9 after winning the election with 31.6 million votes.
  • He took the oath in front of Supreme Court Justice Alexander Gesmundo at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Manila. On June 19, Sara Duterte Carpio, the former President’s daughter and campaign mate, took the oath of office.

2)Attorney General KK Venugopal Has Been Reappointed For Three Months.

  • K.K. Venugopal, the country’s attorney general (A-G), has been reappointed for another three months in that position.
  • Following a plea from the administration, Mr Venugopal, whose current one-year term expires on June 30, consented to a brief term.

3) Around 122 Unicorn cities will be there in India in the upcoming 2 to 3 years. 

  • India is expected to have 122 new unicorns in the next 2-4 years, per the Hurun Research Institute’s report, Hurun India Future Unicorn Index 2022.
  • These potential unicorns are currently valued at 49 billion US dollars overall. A startup is referred to as a unicorn when its valuation reaches $1 billion USD.
