About the SSC Junior Hindi Translator Exam

The Staff Selection Commission of India conducts the SS Junior Hindi Translator exam yearly to recruit eligible candidates for the post of Junior Hindi Translator or Junior Translators among the various Departments and Ministries of the Government of India. The various posts for which the candidates apply for the SSC JHT exam are-

The Pattern of the SSC Junior Hindi Translator Exam

The SSC JHT Exam has two parts- 

  • Paper I 
  • Paper-II

Paper -I is a Computer-Based Test.

Paper-II is a Descriptive paper.

Only for Paper-I, 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. 

 

Syllabus and Weightage 

The syllabus and weightage of Paper-I of the SSC JHT exam is-

The syllabus and weightage of Paper-II of the SSC JHT exam is-

  • Translation and Essay: 200 marks 

 

Eligibility and Educational Qualification

The Staff Selection Commission provides the eligibility and educational qualification requirements every year before the exam. 

Interested candidates must be within the age limit of 18-30 years. Age relaxation is also allowed as per the different categories. A minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10-13 years are allowed as per the categories.

For the role of Junior Translator in Central Secretariat Official Language Service and Senior Hindi Translator in various Government Ministries/ Departments/ Offices, the following educational qualification is required-

  • MA in Hindi and from a government recognized university in India with compulsory or elective English, or 
  • MA in any subject other than Hindi in Hindi medium and English as compulsory or elective from a government recognized university in India, or
  • Diploma in translation from a recognized place.

For the role of Hindi Pradhyapak in Central Hindi Training Institute following educational qualifications are required-

  • BA in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject and MA in any subject from a government recognized university in India, or
  • BA in any subject and MA in Hindi with English as compulsory or elective from a government-recognized university in India.

The Hindi Pradhayapak role also asks for two years experience of in teaching Hindi at the Senior Secondary level under Central or State Governments or any other recognized educational institutes.
