- Exam Pattern-
The SSC CGL exam is conducted every year. The exam takes place in four levels, called Tiers, for the different posts. Here are the four different levels of the SSC CGL exam-

- Syllabus-
The Tier-I syllabus of SSC CGL exam is as follows-
- General Intelligence and Reasoning- 25 questions, 50 marks
- General Awareness- 25 questions, 50 marks
- Quantitative Aptitude- 25 questions, 50 marks
- English Comprehension– 25 questions, 50 marks
For every wrong answer, 0.50 marks will be deducted.
The Tier-II syllabus of SSC CGL exam is as follows-
- Paper I- Quantitative Ability: 100 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours
- Paper II- English Language and Comprehension: 200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours
- Paper III- Statistics: 100 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours
- Paper IV- General Studies (Finance and Economics): 100 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours
For every wrong answer in Paper II, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks. In case of wrong answers in Paper I, Paper III, and Paper IV, 0.50 marks are deducted.
The Tier-III syllabus of SSC CGL is-
- Descriptive Paper in English- 100 marks
- Descriptive Paper in Hindi– 100 marks
Candidates have a total of 1 hour to complete the exam.
The Tier-IV syllabus of SSC CGL is-
- Data Entry Skill Test
- Computer Proficiency Test
