1. Andhra Pradesh’s CM promises to offer free treatment to all cancer patients in the state-
- Jaganmohan Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, announced on Thursday that as part of the AP Government’s comprehensive care scheme all types of cancers are brought into its bracket of free treatment.
- The CM said that the AP state government’s ultimate goal is that no single patient shall die of cancer or rush to the neighboring states for treatment.
- After inaugurating the Tata Trust’s Sri Venkateswara Institute of Cancer Care and Advanced Research (SVICCAR) in Tirupati the CM said, ” The state government has enhanced the Arogyasri scheme and increased the number of medical services, wherein the treatment for even cancer can be availed free of cost.”
2. With the ongoing heatwave, PM Modi is to chair a review meeting on preparedness to deal with it-
- Many parts of the country have reported extreme weather conditions due to the ongoing heatwave across the country.
- To deal with the critical situation, PM Narendra Modi is to chair an important review meeting to be prepared to deal with the heatwave affecting the various parts of the country.
- The meeting is to also take into account the upcoming monsoon season.
- After the PM’s return from the three-day visit to as many European countries, Modi is to hold seven to eight meetings to discuss the same.
3. The First 10 GW Solar State of the country is Rajasthan-
- Rajasthan became the first state in India to reach 10 GW of cumulative large-scale solar installations according to Mercom’s India Solar Project tracker.
- Rajasthan has a total installed power capacity of 32.5 GW, with renewable power accounting for 55%, thermal energy for 43%, and the remaining 2% accounted for by nuclear energy.

- Indian-origin Nand Mulchandani is to be the first-ever Chief Technology (CTO) of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

- Before getting appointed to this role, Mulchandani served as the CTO and acting director of the Joint Artificial Intelligence Centre under the US Department of Defence.
