1. SHRESHTA- scheme launched by the Union Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar-

  • Dr. Virendra Kumar, Union Minister of social justice and empowerment, has launched the SHRESHTA-scheme for the students in High School in targeted areas.
  • SHRESHTA-scheme stands for Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Targeted Areas.
  • The aim behind the scheme is to provide quality education and opportunities even for the poorest.

2. ‘Anchal’, Rajasthan’s special health care Abhiyan, launched for pregnant women-

  • ‘Anchal’, a special health care Abhiyan for pregnant women, has been launched in the Karauli district of Rajasthan for pregnant women.
  • The Abhiyan has benefited for than 13 thousand women.
  • 13,144 women were tested for their hemoglobin during the campaign. Out of them, 11,202 women were found to be anemic.
  • Proper medicine and a nutritious diet were prescribed to these women along with the advice to remain stress-free.

3. World’s first Nano Urea plant inaugurated by PM Modi-

  • World’s first Nano Urea Liquid plant by IFFC was inaugurated by PM Modi Kalol, Gujarat.
  • For the production of Nano fertilizers at different locations in the country, the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative (IFFCO) has built additional manufacturing facilities.

1. Gandhi Citizenship Education Prize set up by Portugal-

  • Antonio Costa, the Prime Minister of Portugal, set up the Gandhi Citizenship Education Prize last month to promote the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.
  • The Gandhian quotes and thoughts are the inspiration behind the Gandhi Citizenship Education Prize which will be given out every year.
  • Following Gandhi’s morals on animal welfare and how the condition and treatment of the animals show the country’s greatness, the first edition of the education prize will be given for animal welfare.

1. For 2021-22, Government approved an 8.1% EPF interest rate-

  • 8.1% rate of interest has been levied on Employee’s Provident Fund (EPF) deposits for 2021-22 by the government.
  • The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) had decided earlier this March to lower the interest on provident fund deposits for 2021-22 from 8.5% to 8.1%

  • For this year, Sweden was the host country and the theme was ‘Only One Earth’ to help promote the idea of sustainable living in harmony with nature.

2. Google celebrates the birthday of Angelo Moriondo, the espresso machine inventor-

  • Angelo Moriondo is commonly referred to as the Godfather of espresso machines.
  • Moriondo is patented for inventing the earliest known espresso machine that used a combination of steam and boiling water to efficiently brew coffee.
  • 6th June 1851 is the birthday of the master inventor and Google Doodle pays tribute to the man.
