2. Seismology Observatory unveiled by the Union Minister in Udhampur-

  • The Union Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Jitendra Singh, inaugurated the Seismology Observatory in the Udhampur district’s Dandayal neighborhood.
  • This is the third such center being inaugurated in Jammu & Kashmir.
  • 20 lakh rupees have been invested by the Ministry of Earth Science to establish this third observatory.

3. Five villages in Gujarat constituted India’s first ‘Balika Panchayat’-

  • Five villages of the Kutch district of Gujarat have started the country’s first even ‘Balika Panchayat’.
  • The initiative is taken to promote the social and political development of the girls and also propagate their active participation in politics.
  • Kunaria, Vadsar, Motagua, and Maska villages of the Kutch district have begun this initiative.
  • The Women and Child Development Welfare Department of the government of Gujarat have launched this initiative under the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign.
