1. ‘Beach Vigil App’ launched by Goa CM for holistic management of beaches-
- Pramod Sawant, the Chief Minister of Goa, has launched the ‘Beach Vigil App’.
- The app is made in collaboration between the tourism sector and Information Technology (IT) sector.
- The aim behind the launch of the app is to benefit the tourists and the institutions working in the beach tourism to have a holistic management and maintenance of the beaches.
2. The National Highways Authority of India wins the Guinness World Record-
- NHAI, National Highways Authority of India, along with their contractors have won the Guinness World Records for putting down a 75 km long continuous Bituminous Concrete Road in 5 days.
- It took a total of 105 hours and 33 minutes to complete the work.
3. NHA’s AB PM-JAY Public Dashboard is updated with new features-
- The National Health Authority’s (NHA) flagship plan Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) has released an updated and dynamic public dashboard.
- AB PM-JAY provides a detailed evaluation of scheme implementation statistics in a comprehensive manner.
- The updated dashboard is one of the phases in the PM-JAY scheme’s progression that provides transparent progress from the point of view of the state or a Union Territory.

1. In terms of environmental performance in 2022, India ranks the lowest in the world-
- According to the 2022 Environment Performance Index (EPI), an analysis by the researchers of Yale and Columbia University, provided a data-driven evaluation of the situation of sustainability around the world.
- India ranked in the lowest position out of the 180 countries.
- EPI ranks the countries out of 40 performance factors, some of which are climate change, environmental public health, and biodiversity.

1. India’s GDP forecast was cut to 7.5% by the World Bank-
- India’s growth forecast by the World Bank for the current financial year is reduced to 7.5%, a 1.2 percent reduction from the previous 8.7%.
- According to the latest Global Economic Prospects, the World Bank said that it cut India’s GDP growth forecast due to the issues from rising inflation, supply chain disruptions, and geopolitical disruptions.
2. The new MD of SBI appointed to be Alok Kumar Choudhary-
- The new Managing Director (MD) of the State Bank of India (SBI) is to be Alok Kumar Choudhary.
- The new transfer of the responsibilities came after the superannuation of Ashwani Bhatia as Managing Director on 31st May 2022.
- Earlier, Choudhary was the Deputy Managing Director of the bank.

1. The new Cancer drug trial makes a breakthrough-
- In a recent medical drug test in the US, 18 patients with rectal cancer were taking a drug called ‘Dostarlimab’ for 6 months after which each patient was observed to no longer have the tumor in their body.
- This is considered as a ray of hope for the permanent solution to cure cancer.
- Dr. Luis A. Diaz J. of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center stated that this is the first time that something like this has happened in the history of cancer.

- Mithali Raj, the Indian batter, has announced her retirement from all forms of international cricket.
